FAQs

  • What happens when the Kings Arms pub and riverside is flooded?

    We meet on Ouse Bridge-located at the top of the stone steps. See map

  • Can I bring my well behaved dog?

    Yes - dogs are the best listeners!

  • Is the walk suitable for all ages?

    Yes, everyone is welcome. It is basically an adult tour that children enjoy.

  • Is the walk disabled friendly?

    Yes, it is fully accessible, if the meeting place is accessed via King Street.

  • Where does the walk finish?

    It depends on the guide and the weather but usually around the Minster area at approximately 9.20pm.

  • Can I use card payment?

    Yes, if you book online, but cash only on the night.

  • Is the train station nearby?

    It is about 15 minutes walk to the Kings Arms (meeting place) and approximately 20 minutes from the Minster (finishing place)





  • Is there a lot of walking involved?

    The walk is a gentle stroll with many stops.



    Please be aware the tour is outdoors and although we only walk in areas of public access, some areas are dark so please take good care on the footpaths and the roads.

  • Do you cancel if the weather is poor?

    No, so please dress for the elements!

  • Is the tour every night ,all year round?

    Yes, however, there are exceptions:



    We close 24th 25th and 26th December.



    Busy horse racing festivals, when crowds may make the tour uncomfortable or unsafe ( please check the website).

  • Are there any additional tours at Halloween?

    Yes, we do 6.30pm starts as well as our 8pm walk. Please check website for details.
